This Privacy Policy explains how SmartPik collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you visit our website, message us on Facebook or Instagram, or place an order with us. We have written this policy in plain language so that you can clearly understand what happens to your data.

For the purposes of data protection law, Md. Mustafizur Rahman is the data controller for personal information collected through SmartPik.
2. What information we collect
We collect the following types of information when you interact with SmartPik:
Information you give us directly
- Your full name
- Your delivery address (district, area, street, house, apartment)
- Your phone number
- Any messages, photos, or product preferences you share with us via Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM, WhatsApp, email, or phone
- Order details (products, quantities, sizes, colours)
Information we collect automatically when you visit smartpikbd.com
- Device and browser information (browser type, operating system, screen size, language)
- IP address and approximate location (country and city level)
- Pages visited, time spent on each page, links clicked
- Referring website (how you arrived at smartpikbd.com)
- Cookie identifiers (see Section 5)
Information from third-party platforms
- When you message our Facebook Page or Instagram account, Meta provides us your Facebook/Instagram profile name, profile picture, and a unique Page-Scoped User ID. We do not see your email, phone, or other personal Meta account details unless you share them in the conversation.
- When you click a Facebook or Google ad and reach our site, the ad platform shares an anonymous click identifier with us so we can attribute the visit to the ad.
We do not collect: national ID numbers, passwords, bank account details, or credit card details. We are a cash-on-delivery (COD) business and do not process online card payments at this time.
3. How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Processing and delivering your order — to confirm what you want to buy, contact you, deliver the product, and handle returns or exchanges.
- Customer support — to answer your questions via Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, email, or phone.
- Marketing and advertising — to show you relevant products on Facebook, Instagram, and Google, including retargeting ads to people who have visited our site or messaged us.
- Improving our products and website — to understand which products customers care about, which pages perform well, and where the site can be improved.
- Fraud prevention and order verification — to confirm orders are genuine and to reduce fake or abusive orders.
- Legal and tax compliance — to keep records of transactions as required by Bangladesh law.
4. Who we share your information with
We share limited information with the following third parties, only as needed to operate the business:
Delivery partners
- Pathao Courier and Steadfast Courier are our primary delivery partners. We may add others in the future.
- They receive: your name, phone number, delivery address, and order details. They use this information solely to deliver your parcel.
Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp)
- When you message us through Messenger, Instagram, or WhatsApp, the conversation is stored on Meta’s servers under Meta’s own privacy policy.
- We use Meta Pixel and the Conversions API on our website. This sends anonymized event data (page view, add-to-cart, purchase) to Meta so we can measure and optimise ad performance.

- We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Ads conversion tracking on our website.
- These services receive anonymized event data about your visit (pages viewed, time spent, conversions).

Service providers
- Our hosting provider, our customer support tools (including the Claude AI assistant that helps draft replies on Messenger), and our backup providers.
- These providers only access data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Legal authorities
- We may disclose information if required by Bangladesh law, a court order, or to protect the safety of our customers and staff.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — to remember your cart contents and keep you logged in (if you create an account).
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage.
- Advertising cookies — Meta Pixel and Google Ads to measure ad performance and show you relevant ads.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site (including the shopping cart) may stop working correctly if you do.
6. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (Meta, Google, our AI assistant provider) are based outside Bangladesh. When your information is shared with them, it may be transferred to and stored on servers in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. These providers operate under their own published privacy frameworks.
7. How long we keep your data
- Order records: retained for at least 7 years to comply with Bangladesh tax and accounting law.
- Messenger / Instagram / WhatsApp conversations: retained for up to 2 years for quality and training purposes, then deleted unless tied to an active order or dispute.
- Website analytics data: retained for 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Marketing audiences (Meta, Google): retained for up to 180 days unless you actively engage with our brand.
- Email correspondence: retained for up to 2 years.

8. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — you can ask us what data we hold about you.
- Correction — you can ask us to fix any wrong or out-of-date information.
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information (see our Data Deletion page: https://smartpikbd.com/data-deletion).
- Objection to marketing — you can ask us to stop showing you ads or sending you marketing messages.
- Portability — you can ask for a copy of your data in a common format.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@smartpikbd.com with the subject line that matches your request (for example, “Data Access Request” or “Data Deletion Request”). We will respond within 30 days.
9. How to request data deletion

In short: email support@smartpikbd.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request” and include the phone number, name, or Facebook profile name you used with us. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, except for records we are required by law to keep.
10. Children’s privacy
SmartPik does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Our products are intended for adults and households. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please email us at support@smartpikbd.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted website connections (HTTPS), password-protected admin systems, and limited access to customer data. However, no online system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. If we make a significant change, we will announce it on our Facebook Page and on this website.
